Traders urge govt to revise market timings

LAHORE: The traders in Rawalpindi request shop closing hour extensions, which need approval from the Government of Punjab, because they face financial losses and their customers experience public difficulties.

by traders. The Central Association of Traders of Rawalpindi conducted a press conference at Rawalpindi Press Club to request. The group wants to extend the shop closing time from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

The group wants to extend hotel and restaurant operating hours from 10:00 pm to 12:00 midnight. The group wants to reduce petroleum product prices.

The traders maintained that current business hours were established during the winter months because evening prayers start earlier. The traders explained that people choose to shop after sunset because lower temperatures create more comfortable conditions.

They added that: Early market closures create shopping difficulties for customers. People who work until evening hours cannot shop. The businesses face severe financial losses.

The traders announced that they will start protests throughout Rawalpindi and all of Punjab until their demands are fulfilled.

The organization requested the government to change the current policy between public needs and economic development during the current hot weather conditions.
