Traffic advisory issued for Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police has issued an important traffic advisory for citizens due to road closures and diversions in the city.

According to officials, the advisory will be effective from 10:00 AM on April 10, 2026, and commuters are urged to plan their travel accordingly.

Key Traffic Instructions

  • GT Road (Rawalpindi to Islamabad): Heavy vehicles should use alternative routes.
  • GT Road (Islamabad to Rawalpindi): Traffic will be diverted; commuters are advised to follow designated routes.
  • Sectors F-6, G-5, and G-6: Roads around these areas will remain closed; use 9th Avenue as an alternate.
  • 9th Avenue: Expected to face heavy traffic load; drivers should allow extra travel time.
  • Expressway & Srinagar Highway: Traffic flow may be affected; use service roads where possible.
  • Red Zone Areas: Strict security measures in place; limited access allowed.
