The military’s proactive stance against terrorism was evident in heightened activities on the night of December 11 and 12.

In a heroic display of resilience and determination, Pakistani security forces successfully thwarted multiple terrorist attacks in the Dera Ismail Khan district, resulting in the elimination of 27 terrorists. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that despite the tragic loss of 23 soldiers in a suicide attack, the military’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism remains steadfast.

The incident unfolded in the early hours of December 12, when a group of six terrorists targeted a security forces’ post in Daraban area. The ISPR reported that the attempt to breach the post was effectively foiled, compelling the terrorists to resort to a devastating tactic – ramming an explosive-laden vehicle into the post, followed by a suicide bombing.

“The resulting blasts led to the collapse of the building, causing multiple casualties; 23 brave soldiers embraced shahadat (martyrdom), while all six terrorists were effectively engaged and sent to hell,” stated the ISPR.

The military’s proactive stance against terrorism was evident in heightened activities on the night of December 11 and 12. In an intelligence-based operation in Darazinda, 17 terrorists were eliminated as their hideout was successfully busted. Additionally, four terrorists met their end in another operation in Kulachi, and two soldiers embraced martyrdom during an intense exchange of fire.

The ISPR emphasized that the killed terrorists were actively involved in numerous attacks against security forces and the killing of innocent civilians. The operations also resulted in the recovery of weapons, ammunition, and explosives.

“Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists present in the area, as security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” declared the military’s media wing.

Despite the somber loss of 23 soldiers, the resilience and bravery exhibited by the security forces underscore Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security, standing united against the threat of terrorism.
