ISLAMABAD: Noor Wali Mehsud, the leader of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has been charged in a terrorism case, according to ARY News sources.
The case follows the leak of a confidential phone call between Mehsud and TTP associate Ahmad Hussain, alias Ghut Hajji, which disclosed plans to attack government buildings, schools, and hospitals in Pakistan. Forensic analysis confirmed the authenticity of the call.
The case, filed under anti-terrorism laws at the CTD police station in North Waziristan, is in response to recent attacks on a rural health center in Dera Ismail Khan and a girls’ school in Mir Ali.
Security officials have pledged to take decisive action against those responsible for these attacks, emphasizing that the TTP will not be permitted to harm innocent people.
Previously, an alleged audio recording attributed to Mehsud, reportedly in hiding in Afghanistan, surfaced. In it, Mehsud is heard instructing attacks on hospitals, government buildings, and schools in Pakistan, as well as targeting police and military personnel’s homes to incite fear and chaos.
