SKARDU: The Pakistan Army has rescued six foreign climbers scaling K-2, the second-highest peak in the world, on Monday.

The foreign mountaineers belonging to America, Chile, Macedonia, and Nepal were rescued by helicopter. They were present at K-2 base camp when they suffered from high-altitude sicknesses.

The climber contacted the Pakistan Army for a rescue, following which the force responded swiftly and they were successfully rescued. They were shifted to a hospital in Skardu.

Earlier this month, Pakistan Army commandos also successfully rescued foreign climbers from Holland, Singapore, and Ecuador, after they encountered difficulties while attempting to summit K2.
