ISLAMABAD: A renowned television host and journalist Aftab Iqbal has been allegedly detained at Dubai International Airport on December 22, his family confirmed.
Taking on X, his brother Junaid Iqbal, confirmed that Aftab Iqbal was traveling back to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from Manchester, England when he was arrested at the airport.
As he arrived at Dubai Aiport on his flight [Qatar Airways QR1018] on Sunday night, he was stopped by authorities and “detained without assigning any reason”, his brother said.
Junaid Iqbal, in a statement, urged Pakistan’s embassy in UAE and the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) to investigate the matter and bring back him [Aftab Iqbal] to his family.
Reports indicated that Aftab Iqbal has been reached to his residence in Dubai.
