Two holidays announced in Pakistan on Rabiul Awal 11, 12?

KARACHI: Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori has asked the federal government to announce holidays across the country on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

The governor said he would write to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and request him to declare 11 and 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal as a public holiday to celebrate the important day with religious fervor.

Tessori said that the birthday of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is very important for Muslims all over the world.

Rabi al-Awwal 11 and 12 will fall on September 16 and 17 (Monday and Tuesday) this year as the third Islamic month begins.

It should be remembered that the federal government has declared a public holiday on September 17 (Tuesday) on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

It is yet to be seen whether the Prime Minister approves the Sindh Governor’s request to declare two holidays in Pakistan on 11 and 12 Rabi al-Awwal.

The 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, also known as Eid Milad-un-Nabi, holds great significance in the Islamic calendar. It is a day of deep reflection and celebration, as it is the birthday of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), whose life and teachings influence billions of people around the world.

In Pakistan, this day is traditionally celebrated with great devotion through processions, special prayers and religious gatherings.

Preparations for this occasion are already underway in cities and towns across Pakistan. Houses, streets and buildings are being decorated with lights and banners while various religious organizations are planning events to celebrate the day.
