NEW YORK: Pakistan’s UN envoy Asim Iftikhar has said that the Security Council should play its role in a ceasefire between Iran and Israel.

An important meeting of the UN Security Council was held on Friday on the Israel-Iran war.

Addressing the UN Security Council, Pakistani envoy Asim Iftikhar said that Pakistan condemns Israeli aggression and illegal actions against Iran.

Pakistan wants a peaceful resolution to the conflict between Israel and Iran. Israeli aggression poses a serious threat to regional peace.

The Pakistani envoy has said that the Security Council should play its role for a ceasefire between Iran and Israel and diplomacy should be given another chance

The parties should come to immediate talks, and peace should be ensured before the situation gets out of control.

Asim Iftikhar said that the Israeli attacks are a violation of the UN Charter, and we stand with our Iranian brothers against Israeli aggression.

The issue of Iran’s nuclear program should be resolved through dialogue, and the International Atomic Energy Agency should work impartially.

The Pakistani diplomat warned that Israel’s actions, including attacks on Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen, represent a pattern of unilateral belligerence that demoralises international norms.
