Update on Intermediate exams & matric practical in Punjab

LAHORE: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has issued a circular stating that theory papers of Intermediate Part-II and practical examinations of matric will resume from May 8 as per the already issued date sheet.

The paper scheduled for May 7 was postponed due to the current situation. However, the board stated that the remaining examinations will proceed as planned.

“In pursuance of the directions of the Competent Authority/worthy Secretary Higher Education Department, Government of the Punjab/Chairman PBCC, it is hereby notified… that the theory papers of Intermediate Part-II and practicals of Secondary School Certificate (First Annual) Examinations, 2025 shall be conducted as per the date sheet and roll number slips on May 8 onwards,” the circular stated.

Students have been instructed to arrive at their allocated examination centers and laboratories at the times specified on their roll number slips. The board noted that no alterations had been made to the exam centers or schedules, which would resume on May 8.

BISE Lahore further stated that a revised schedule for the papers postponed on May 7 will be released at a later date.

The statement comes as students and parents raise worries about probable interruptions to the test schedule as a result of regional conflicts. However, the board assured everyone concerned that the examinations would be conducted safely and on schedule.
