US lawmakers meet COAS Gen Asim Munir, vow stronger Pak-US ties

RAWALPINDI: A US Congressional delegation led by Jack Bergman, including Thomas Suzie and Jonathan Jackson, called on Pakistan’s Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, the ISPR reported.

The meeting discussed mutual interests, regional security and defense cooperation. The two sides agreed to maintain relations based on mutual respect, shared values ​​and strategic goals.

The US lawmakers appreciated the role of the Pakistani armed forces in the fight against terrorism and praised the nation’s resilience and strategic strength.

They reiterated their respect for Pakistan’s sovereignty and expressed their commitment to strengthen cooperation in security, trade, investment and economic development.

General Munir thanked the delegation for their visit and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further deepening its enduring partnership with the United States.
