Weather update: Rain and snowfall forecast in different parts of the country

ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has forecast rain and snowfall in different parts of the country.

According to the PMD, the weather in Islamabad is likely to be cold and partly cloudy. There is a possibility of rain and snowfall at a few places in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Meteorological Department has predicted rain at a few places in Jiwani, Pasni, Ormara, Kech and Turbat, on the other hand, the PDMA has issued an alert and said that there is a possibility of snowfall with severe cold in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiat, Pothohar region.

A nationwide westerly wind wave is expected between January 16 and 18, there is a possibility of snowfall in the urban areas of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, while the minimum temperature may drop to extreme levels.

According to meteorological models, there is a possibility of snowfall in Lahore city as well, this surprising situation can occur after 1878.

Peshawar city is likely to receive 15 to 25 mm of rain, while regular snowfall is also possible between January 23 and 25, with the minimum temperature likely to drop to minus 5 degrees Celsius.

Rain and snowfall at extremely cold temperatures are likely in most areas of Balochistan, with extremely cold, icy winds of 60 to 100 kmph expected across the province between January 21 and 23.
