Zulfiqar Ali Khosa dies at age of 90: sources

ISLAMABAD: Veteran Pakistani politician Zulfiqar Ali Khosa lost the battle of life at the age of 90 years old.

Pakistani political veteran Zulfiqar Ali Khosa has been one of the most prominent politicians in Pakistan’s political history, whose career spans several decades.

Born on 20 October 1935, Khosa has been one of the governors of Punjab and is still part of the Senate of Pakistan, representing the province in the federal legislature.

Khosa happens to be one of the select politicians who have won elections to the Provincial Assembly of Punjab many times, winning elections in nine consecutive elections held in the years 1970, 1977, 1985, 1988, 1990, 1993, 1997, 2008, and 2013. Before that, he also managed to win a West Pakistan Assembly election in 1962.

In the latest 2018 general elections, Khosa lost in an attempt to win a seat in the National Assembly to his opponent, Amjad Farooq Khan.

Khosa is considered a veteran politician because of his long association with Punjab politics.
