British pop sensation Dua Lipa has reportedly taken a strong legal step by filing a $15 million lawsuit against Samsung, escalating a high-profile intellectual property dispute in the entertainment and tech world. The case, widely discussed in global media, centers on allegations connected to the Dua Lipa Samsung lawsuit over the unauthorized commercial use of her image.
According to details shared by international reports, Dua Lipa claims that Samsung used her photograph in a promotional campaign without seeking her permission. The image, reportedly captured during her 2024 music festival performance, was later used in advertisements for the company’s TV-related products, creating the impression of her endorsement.
The singer’s legal team argues that the use of her image not only violated her copyright protections but also misled audiences into believing she was officially associated with or supporting the brand. They further stated that all rights to the image remain with the artist, and no approval or compensation was provided for its commercial usage.
Reports also suggest that prior to filing the Dua Lipa Samsung lawsuit, her team contacted the company requesting the immediate removal of the image. However, Samsung allegedly declined to comply, prompting the legal escalation.
The lawsuit reportedly includes claims of copyright infringement, trademark misuse, and violation of California’s right of publicity laws. The case highlights growing concerns in the entertainment industry over unauthorized celebrity image usage in global advertising campaigns.
