The upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 halftime show is set to make history as FIFA introduces a full-scale musical performance during the final for the first time ever. The landmark event will take place on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, featuring a star-studded lineup including Shakira, Madonna, and BTS.

This groundbreaking FIFA World Cup 2026 halftime show marks a major shift in football tradition, bringing entertainment on par with global sporting spectacles like the Super Bowl. The 2026 tournament, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will kick off on June 11 in Mexico City before culminating in the New York–New Jersey region.

According to official announcements, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin is curating the performance, which is being produced in collaboration with Global Citizen. The initiative is not just about entertainment; it also supports the newly launched FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, aimed at raising $100 million to improve education and football access for children worldwide. FIFA has also pledged $1 from every tournament ticket toward the cause.

The announcement was teased through a creative social media campaign featuring BTS members alongside Sesame Street and Muppet characters, highlighting the family-friendly and global appeal of the event.

In addition, Shakira, who is also part of the halftime lineup, recently collaborated with Burna Boy on the official World Cup track “Dai Dai,” adding further excitement to the tournament’s cultural impact.

With such a powerful mix of music icons and global messaging, the FIFA World Cup 2026 halftime show is already being positioned as one of the most iconic entertainment moments in sports history.
