Pakistan to host CAVA ASIAN Volleyball Championship 2026

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is all set to host the Central ASIAN Volleyball Championship 2026 in Islamabad, starting from 22 to 29 July.

The event is going to take place at Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad.

The tournament includes Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan, which is included as the Afghanistan team has withdrawn from the event.

The opening ceremony will start at 15: 30, followed by the opening match between the host, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan. The match will start at 16:30 on 22nd of July.

Schedule

Round-robin matches will take place every day starting on Day 2 at 10:30 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:30 PM. Due to the opening ceremony at 3:30 PM, Day 1 will have a unique timetable.

Spectator entry is totally free of cost, and entry is only allowed through Gate 2 and Gate 5 of Pakistan Sports Complex.

The parking facility has also been arranged by the organizers within the premises of the Complex.

Pakistan team includes Murad Jehan (Captain), Muhammad, Kashif Naveed, Jabran, Salman Khan, Ashraf Aziz, Musawer Khan.

Other players include Hamid Yazman, Murad Khan, Usman Faryad Ali, Ahmad Mustafa Khan, Nasir Ali, Afaq Khan, Abdul Zaheer, Fahad Raza.

Earlier, Pakistan made a brilliant start to the Asian Boys Under-18 Volleyball Championship 2026, defeating Kyrgyzstan 3-0 in their first match.

On the first day of the event in Haikou, China, Pakistan maintained complete control of the game from the beginning and won the match with set scores of 10-25, 19-25, and 25-17.

The national team kept the opponent under pressure in the first set through effective service, strong blocking, and aggressive attacks, and easily won 25-10.

In the second set, Kyrgyzstan tried to resist, but Pakistan showed discipline and excellent teamwork to maintain the lead 25-19.

In the third set too, the Green Shirts played well in both defense and attack, winning the match 25-17 and winning the match 3-0.
