Pakistani actor and singer Farhan Saeed has shared why he prefers portraying struggling and emotionally complex characters instead of glamorous on-screen heroes.
During a recent interview hosted by entertainment journalist Maliha Rehman, the actor appeared alongside actress Mamya Shajaffar and opened up about his approach toward selecting television and film roles.
The discussion focused on how many actors often choose polished billionaire-style characters who appear perfect on screen. However, Farhan Saeed explained that he finds more depth and excitement in playing ordinary individuals dealing with emotional struggles and real-life challenges.
Speaking candidly, the actor said he never feels insecure while portraying non-glamorous roles because his music career already gives him exposure to fame and luxury in real life. He added that performing on stage regularly allows him to experience the glamorous side of celebrity life, making realistic acting roles more creatively satisfying for him.
Farhan further shared that he enjoys characters who are vulnerable, troubled, or emotionally broken because such personalities feel more authentic and relatable to audiences. His comments quickly gained attention online, with fans appreciating his honest perspective on acting and storytelling.
The conversation comes ahead of the release of his upcoming Eid-ul-Adha film Luv Di Saun, where he stars opposite Mamya Shajaffar. According to the trailer, the story follows a romantic relationship that later faces emotional complications after Farhan’s character discovers unexpected details about the woman he loves.
Directed by Syed Faisal Bukhari, the film also stars Babar Ali and features a mix of Punjabi and Urdu dialogue. The soundtrack has also been sung by Farhan Saeed himself.
