PESHAWAR: Peshawar police have apprehended the mastermind behind a honey trap that ensnared renowned writer and playwright Khalilur Rehman Qamar.

Hassan Shah, along with his accomplice Rafiq, were arrested in Peshawar. Shah is accused of leading a 12-member gang, which included several women, to lure Qamar into a trap and subsequently release compromising videos of him.

According to police reports, Khalilur Rehman Qamar was invited to a woman’s house under false pretenses, where he was secretly recorded. The explicit videos were then allegedly spread online by Shah.

Qamar had earlier claimed that he was kidnapped, pointing to the incriminating videos as the motive behind his abduction.
