KARACHI: Star batter and former captain Babar Azam equals Virat Kohli’s record for the most century partnerships in T20 cricket.
During a match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Babar Azam joined hands with Kaushal Mendis to form another century partnership, which is the 47th century partnership of his T20 career.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli has also made 47 century partnerships in T20 cricket, after which both players have jointly topped this list.
Apart from this, Babar Azam has also set a unique record in the PSL by making the most century partnerships with 18. Chris Gayle and David Warner are third and fourth in the list with 46 and 45 such partnerships, respectively.
With this milestone, he has also equaled the record of Kamran Akmal, Riley Rossouw, and Usman Khan for scoring the most centuries in the league.
Overall, this is Babar Azam’s 12th century in T20 cricket, after which he has moved to second place in the list of players who have scored the most centuries, where West Indies’ Chris Gayle is at the top with 22 centuries.
