DHAKA: “Bangladesh has decided not to go to India to participate in the Men’s T20 World Cup,” said Youth and Sports Adviser to the interim government, Asif Nazrul, on Thursday, a day after the International Cricket Council (ICC) rejected their demand to hold their matches in Sri Lanka instead of India.
He announced a meeting with the chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Aminul Islam Bulbul, and the players of the national team.

“There is no place for the Bangladesh team to go to contest in the ICC T20 World Cup since the security situation in India has not been altered,” he said.
Nevertheless, he said that the BCB’s undertakings regarding the change of site would continue, as BCB will approach the ICC again today regarding the same.
