Pakistani women’s cricket sensation, Fatima Sana, has joined New Zealand’s domestic Twenty20 competition, Super Smash, after being selected by the Canterbury Magi. The all-rounder, who recently earned the Player of the Series title in the T20 series against New Zealand, expressed her excitement about this new opportunity, describing it as a “great experience.” Fatima Sana has previously showcased her skills in various foreign leagues, including the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
In addition to her success in the T20 format, Fatima Sana has been appointed as the new captain of Pakistan’s women’s cricket team in the One Day International (ODI) format. This responsibility comes in light of Nida Dar’s unavailability due to injury. Fatima Sana is set to lead Pakistan in the upcoming Second ODI against New Zealand.

Commenting on her captaincy, Fatima Sana stated, “It is an honor to lead the Pakistan women’s side in ODIs, although the circumstances are unfortunate with Nida Dar’s injury. She has been an inspiration, and I wish her a speedy recovery. We had a historic T20I series win against New Zealand, and I know the players are eager to perform well in the ODI series too. Although we didn’t have a good outing in the first ODI, we are all geared up to excel in tomorrow’s game.”
