FIFA unveils $871 million prize pool for 2026 World Cup

ISLAMABAD: According to FIFA, $871 million has been allocated for the 2026 World Cup, while each team participating in the event will be provided with at least $12.5 million.

FIFA says that the winning team of the World Cup will be awarded $53.5 million, while the runners-up team will be entitled to $36.5 million.

The team that takes third place will be given $32.5 million, while the team that comes in fourth place will be given $35 million.

According to FIFA, each team that comes in fifth to eighth place will receive $22.5 million, while the teams that come in ninth to sixteenth place will be given $18.5 million.

Similarly, each team that comes in 17th to 32nd place will get $14.5 million.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will begin on June 11 in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
