DUBAI: The stalemate surrounding the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 finally ends as the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the hybrid model for the upcoming event, set to be hosted by Pakistan.

The ICC Board on Thursday confirmed that the tournament will be played across Pakistan in February and March 2025 with India’s matches being played at a neutral venue — which will be announced soon.

Apart from the hybrid model, the cricket council also awarded the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) with “hosting rights of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2028”, where neutral venue arrangements like CT 2025 will also apply.

According to the ICC statement, “India and Pakistan matches hosted by either country at ICC Events during the 2024-2027 rights cycle will be played at a neutral venue.

The hybrid model will apply to the Champions Trophy 2025, the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 (hosted by India), and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 (hosted by India and Sri Lanka), the ICC Board.

The eight-team event with Pakistan defending the title will feature Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, and South Africa, alongside hosts country.
