DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the details of the final distribution of $11.25 million allocated to teams and players at the end of the T20 World Cup 2026.
According to the details, the winning team of the T20 World Cup, India, received the highest amount of $2,639,423, while the runner-up team, New Zealand, received $1,422,692.
Semi-finalist South Africa received $1,05577, and the English team received $974,423.
Among the teams that were limited to the Super 8, the West Indies were given $538,269 and Pakistan $522,692.
Zimbabwe received $491,538 and Sri Lanka $475,962. Among the other teams, Afghanistan, Australia, and the United States received $39,808 each. Scotland was given $278,654, and Ireland $271,731.
Italy, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, and Nepal received $256,154 each. Canada, Namibia, and Oman were given $225,000 as basic participation money, according to the ICC.
The spokesperson clarified that all these amounts have been determined based on the group stage, Super Eight, semi-final, and final access bonuses and match wins, and these are gross amounts before taxes or other deductions.
According to Indian media reports, the BCCI has announced a prize money of 131 crore Indian rupees for the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup. The prize money will be given to the players and support staff.
The Indian board had announced a prize money of 125 crore rupees for the team for winning the T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma in 2024.
The Indian team also received a tournament prize money of 2.34 million dollars from the ICC.
It may be recalled that two days ago, India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs in the final of the T20 World Cup 2026 to win the title for the third time.
