NEW DELHI: India has refused to play a bilateral series with Pakistan. According to Indian media reports, the Indian government is not in favor of participating in direct sports against Pakistan.

The Indian Sports Ministry has issued instructions in this regard to various sports organizations, Olympic Associations and sports authorities.

According to the Sports Ministry, India will not host any bilateral series with Pakistan on its soil nor will it send its teams to Pakistan. The statement said that Indian teams will not visit Pakistan for bilateral competitions nor will Pakistani teams be allowed to play in India.

However, regarding multinational competitions, India says that the decision to participate in such events will be taken keeping in mind the policy of international sports bodies and the interests of the players.
