India wins Asia Cup tittle by 5 wickets

DUBAI: India has won the Asia Cup 2025 against Pakistan by 5 wickets. Pakistan and India came face-to-face after 41 years.

Earlier, Pakistan gave a target of 147 runs to India, which they gracefully achieved. Pakistan’s players showed remarkable talent during the first few innings of the match.

In pursuit of a target of 147 runs, India was bowled out for 130 runs in 18 overs. India lost its first wicket in the second over when Abhishek Sharma got bowled out for 5 runs by Fahim’s ball. India lost its second wicket at 10 runs when Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav got bowled out for one run by Shaheen.

On a total of 20, Shubman Gill also got out to Fahim Ashraf for 12 runs. On a total of 77, Sanju Samson got out to Abrar for 24 runs.

Earlier, the whole Pakistan side got out for 146 runs in 19.1 overs. The first Pakistani player to be dismissed was Sahibzada Farhan, who played an innings of 57 runs off 38 balls and was caught by Varun for a total score of 84.

Saim Ayub, who came after him, scored 14 runs off a total score of 113 and became Kuldeep’s victim.

Following the fall of the second wicket, the Pakistani batsmen were in position, and the remaining 8 players fell for a mere 33 runs.

Following Saim Ayub, Mohammad Haris also went back to the pavilion without making any runs. Fakhar Zaman was also caught by Varun for 126 scores; he made 46 runs from 35 balls. Hussain Talat was also caught for 131 scores; he managed to make one run.

Following him, Salman Agha also got dismissed for 8 runs, then Shaheen Afridi and Faheem Ashraf, without scoring any runs. Haris Rauf and Mohammad Nawaz both ran 6 runs.

4 wickets were taken by Kuldeep Yadav for India. Alongside them, Bumrah, Varun, and Aat Patel took 2 wickets each.

There was not a single change in the Pakistan team squad for the final. The Pakistan team consists of captain Salman Ali Agha, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Sahibzada Farhan, Hussain Talat, Muhammad Haris, Muhammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Abrar Ahmed.

Indian team’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been injured and is out of the final, and Rinku Singh has been added to the playing eleven in his place.

India won both matches against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025, but otherwise, Pakistan has beaten all the teams of Asia up until now.

Pakistan and India have played 5 finals against each other in any multi-nation tournament; Pakistan leads India here. Pakistan has won Pakistan 3 times, while India has won Pakistan 2 times in the final.
