In a groundbreaking move, India has won by 61 runs against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup.
Pakistan and India played neck to neck with Indian cricket. Iashan Kishan scored 77 runs on 40 balls, whereas Pakistani spinner Saim Ayub took 3 wickets for 25 runs only.
Chasing a competitive target of 176 runs, Pakistan were bowled out for just 114 runs, failing to build momentum under pressure.
Mohammad Usman top-scored for Pakistan with 44 runs, while Shadab Khan managed 14 and Faheem Ashraf added 10. Saim Ayub (6), Babar Azam (5), captain Salman Agha (4), and Mohammad Nawaz (4) struggled to make an impact. Usman Tariq, Abrar Ahmed, and Sahibzada Farhan were dismissed for ducks.
India’s bowling attack proved clinical and disciplined. Hardik Pandya, Varun Chakaravarthy, Axar Patel, and Jasprit Bumrah claimed two wickets each, while Kuldeep Yadav and Tilak Varma chipped in with one wicket apiece.
Earlier, after being invited to bat first, India posted 175/7 in their allotted overs. Ishan Kishan starred with a brilliant 77-run knock, anchoring the innings.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav scored 32, Shivam Dube added 27, and Tilak Varma contributed 25. Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and Abhishek Sharma were dismissed without scoring, while Rinku Singh remained unbeaten on 11.
For Pakistan, Saim Ayub picked up three wickets, while Salman Agha, Usman Tariq, and Shaheen Shah Afridi took one each.
