ISLAMABAD: The district administration of Islamabad has implemented a mandatory registration requirement for all Dastarkhwan and street Iftar events that take place in the federal capital.
The announcement was made by officials on Sunday. Public Dastarkhwan operations need to register their activities because the new directive requires all Dastarkhwan operations to register their activities.
The establishment aims to improve safety measures while distributing iftar meals to the public. Organizers need to provide their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) information, together with their complete location description and intended setup plans, to the appropriate office.
Assistant Commissioners will inspect the proposed sites after applicants submit their applications. The district administration will establish security measures and provide administrative support to approved locations after the locations receive clearance.
The capital city has established five additional points for vehicle e-tagging operations. The current official data shows that 18 applications have been received and processed from different sectors throughout Islamabad.
The authorities stated that this initiative forms part of the capital’s Ramadan preparations, which coincide with security measures for mosques and public areas scheduled to start before the holy month.
The residents have been informed that the Ramadan crescent will be sighted this week, with fasting scheduled to start on February 19. 2026.
The district officials have requested citizens to cooperate because Iftar services without authorization will be banned and will result in administrative penalties. The holy month of Ramadan will begin on February 19. 2026.
