Inspector Iram of Rawalpindi Police wins double gold at World Powerlifting Championship

RAWALPINDI: (APP)Inspector Iram Khanum of the Rawalpindi Police has secured two gold medals at the World Powerlifting Championship 2025 held in Sri Lanka, earning international recognition and bringing honour to the Punjab Police and Pakistan, a police spokesman said on Thursday.
According to the spokesman, Inspector Khanum clinched first position in the powerlifting category as well as the deadlift event, defeating a leading Indian competitor in the process.
On her arrival at the City Police Officer’s Office on Wednesday, she received a warm welcome from the Rawalpindi Police. CPO Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Hamdani congratulated her on the remarkable achievement and commended her performance.
“Inspector Iram Khanum is a shining star of the Punjab Police, and her outstanding success is a matter of pride not only for the department but for the entire nation,” the CPO said.
The spokesman added that her accomplishment would serve as an inspiration for women officers and athletes across the country.
