DUBLIN: Ireland’s Curtis Campher has made it to the records book by taking five wickets on five balls in a domestic match on Thursday.

He became the only male cricketer to mark this milestone in professional cricket.

This remarkable feat was recorded when playing for Munster Reds in a domestic T20 Trophy match against the North-West Warriors in Dublin.

Campher took two wickets on the last ball of the 12th over and returned in the 14th over to take on three more wickets by dismissing the opponents’ batters.

“I wasn’t really sure what was happening,” he told Cricket Ireland. “I just kind of stuck to my guns and kept it real simple, and luckily it kind of went off.”

Kelis Ndhlovu, a Zimbabwe women’s all-rounder, was the first to accomplish the unusual feat, taking five wickets in five balls during a domestic under-19 T20 match against the Eagles Women in 2024.
