QUETTA: National karate star player Arzoo dies after being seriously injured in a traffic accident on Wednesday, according to media reports.
According to details, 18-year-old Arzoo, the daughter of Haider Ali, who was riding a motorcycle, met with an accident in Quetta.
Arzoo, who hails from Ghulam Ali Hazara Sports Complex, Quetta, represented Balochistan in national competitions. Arzoo was seriously injured when her motorcycle skidded while going with her partner to participate in a local karate championship.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Pakistan Karate Federation Muhammad Jahangir and other officials have expressed grief over the demise of the female national player and expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
Earlier, under the directive of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Secretary of the Sports Department, Balochistan, Durra Baloch, paid a visit to Aria Hospital, where he enquired about the health condition of national karate player Arzoo Haider Ali, who had been admitted there after suffering from serious injuries due to a road mishap.
During his visit, the Secretary promised total cooperation of the government for getting proper medical treatment by meeting her family members and praying for her quick recovery, a press release reported.
He mentioned that the Sports Department of Balochistan is rendering all possible help and is keeping in touch with the family to get the best results from the patient’s treatment.
It is worth mentioning here that according to hospital officials, Arzoo suffered a severe head injury and is now admitted to the ICU department of Aria Hospital. It is pertinent to mention here that Arzoo was on her way to take part in the Karate Championship at Ayub Sports Complex on Saturday when she met with a traffic accident.
