Olympian Tahir Zaman named head coach of Pakistan hockey team

LAHORE: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has appointed Olympian Tahir Zaman as the new head coach of the national hockey team.

This was announced during a press conference at the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore, where PHF Secretary Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali Khan shared the news.

Rana Mujahid said that Tahir Zaman is not only a legend of Pakistan hockey but also a qualified coach with extensive experience in modern coaching techniques. PHF President Mir Tariq Hussain Bugti has approved his appointment.

Tahir Zaman will join the national team in China tomorrow. The PHF secretary also emphasized on his commitment to combat negative propaganda and to utilize all resources and capabilities to elevate the status of hockey in the country.

Apart from this, Rana Mujahid said that letters will be sent to all former Olympians inviting them to share their experiences and contribute to the development and promotion of hockey in Pakistan.
