LAHORE: As part of thorough security preparations, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar said on Sunday that more than 8,000 police officers and personnel have been assigned to the last game of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 10), including Lahore Qalandars vs Quetta Gladiators.

As per the Punjab police spokesperson, the IGP has ordered officials to make sure that during the game extensive security arrangements cover international and local players, officials, cricket fans, and officials.

Dr. Usman stressed that every arrangement for security, traffic control, and overall safety during the game will be personally examined by supervisory officers. He emphasized that officers posted at duty locations must be very alert and watchful for any strange behavior.

Dr. commented, “We have embraced a more sophisticated security plan for the PSL 10 games to provide a safer environment for all participants.” Usman praises the efforts made by the Multan, Rawalpindi, and Lahore police to keep peace during earlier games.

The IGP also emphasized how well the relevant institutions, security agencies, and district administrations coordinated efforts have helped to ensure the PSL events run smoothly.

Elite Force teams, Police Response Units and Dolphin Squad will carry out focused patrols around important roads, the stadium and nearby environs.

Added Usman, CCTV cameras placed at important areas like the teams’ routes, the stadium, and accommodation sites will help to ensure continuous monitoring.

The Punjab Police has published a traffic recommendation asking people to help law enforcement. He insisted that snipers would be placed on lofty structures encircling the stadium to offer additional security.

IGP said, “Fans should follow police orders to enjoy the game in a safe and secure environment.”
