Pak U19 vs Zim U19: Pakistan rout Zimbabwe in final group match

HARARE: Pakistan defeated Zimbabwe by eight wickets in the final group match of the ICC Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup in Harare on Thursday.

While pursuing a meager target of 129 runs for victory, Pakistan won the match with eight wickets and 142 balls still left in the game.

Player of the match Sameer Minhas was the highest scorer for the Green shirts with an unbeaten 74 off 75 balls, including six fours and three sixes. Usman Khan scored 26 off 23 balls and Ahmed Hussain an unbeaten 24 off 53 balls.

Panashe Mazai and Michael Bignaut each took one wicket.

Bating first, Zimbabwe lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 128 in 35.5 overs. Nathaniel Hlabangana, the opener, scored the highest of 59 off 85 balls, including seven fours and one six. Brandon Senzere scored 15 off 39 balls, while Shelton Mazvitorera was unbeaten on 12 off 14 balls.

Ali Raza took three wickets, and Mohammad Sayyam, Abdul Subhan, and Momin Qamar took two wickets each, while Ahmed Hussain took one wicket.
