Govt announces salary increase, lowers energy prices

ISLAMABAD: The government announced two measures that will benefit both workers and businesses through salary increases and reduced energy costs.

The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industry and Production, Haroon Akhtar, announced during a press conference that took place in Islamabad.

He explained that the production sector receives positive benefits from the current electricity price reductions. Haroon Akhtar announced that Pakistan will host its first-ever microeconomic exhibition at the Lahore Expo Center from January 24 to 26.

The event will showcase micro, small, and medium enterprises,s which will become the largest exhibition of its type in the country. He showed that the government dedicated its resources toward creating growth in both the production industry and the MSME sector.

“We had to take tough decisions for the economy, but today the results are visible he said. He mentioned that the Pakistani stock market shows strong performance while policy rates have decreased, which indicates economic progress.
