Pak vs USA: Green Shirts secure easy win against USA

COLOMBO: Pakistan easily defeated the United States by 32 runs in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, their second consecutive victory in the event.

In the Group A match played in Colombo, the United States won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first.

Pakistan scored 190 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Sahibzada Farhan stood out by scoring 73 runs.

Chasing Pakistan’s target, the United States team could score 158 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

For the US, Shubham and Shayan Jahangir were the standouts with 51 and 49 runs respectively, while Milind Kumar scored 29 runs. No other batsman could show any significant performance.

One change was made in the Pakistan team for the match against the United States. Usman Tariq was included in the team in place of Salman Mirza.

The Pakistan team included Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Salman Agha, Usman Khan, Shadab Khan, Muhammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Usman Tariq, and Abrar Ahmed.

It should be noted that Pakistan had defeated the Netherlands by 3 wickets in their first match after a thrilling contest, while the USA had suffered a defeat at the hands of India.
