Pakistan beat Sri Lanka to win Tri-Nation T20 Series final

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan won the title by defeating Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the final match of the tri-nation T20 series.

In the final match played in Rawalpindi, Pakistan won the toss against Sri Lanka and decided to field.

The Sri Lankan team was bowled out for 114 runs in 20 overs while batting first.

Kamil Mishra stood out for Sri Lanka by scoring 59 runs, apart from him, no other Sri Lankan batter could withstand the Pakistani bowlers. Kusal Mendis scored 14 runs and Nissanka scored 11 runs.

For Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Nawaz took 3 wickets each and Abrar Ahmed took 2 wickets.

Pakistan achieved the target of 115 runs in the 19th over for the loss of 4 wickets.

Babar Azam remained unbeaten on 37 runs, Saim Ayub scored 36 and Sahibzada Farhan scored 23 runs.

Salman Ali Agha was out for 14 and Fakhar Zaman for 3 runs.

Pawan Ratnayake took 2 wickets for Sri Lanka.

One change was made in the Pakistani team for the final match, with fast bowler Shaheen Afridi returning to the playing eleven, and Wasim Junior was dropped. No change was made in the Sri Lankan team for the final.
