Pakistan clinches ODI series with 7-wicket win over South Africa

FAISALABAD: Pakistan defeated South Africa by 7 wickets in the third and final match of the one-day series and won the series 1-2.

In the match played at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, Pakistan achieved the target of 144 runs in 25.1 overs for the loss of 3 wickets.

Saim Ayub was outstanding for Pakistan by scoring 77 runs. Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman returned to the pavilion with individual scores of 27 and 0.

Mohammad Rizwan scored 32 and Agha Salman were not out by scoring 5 runs.

For South Africa, Nandre Berger and Jorn Forten took 1 wicket.

Earlier, after winning the toss and batting first, the South African team was dismissed for 143 runs in 37.5 overs.

For the Proteas, Quentin de Kock was outstanding by scoring 53 runs. Luan-Dre Pretorius 39, Naqvimzi Peter 16, captain Matthew Britzke 16, Donovan Ferreira 7, Jorn Forten 3, Tony de Zorzi 2, Robin Herman 1 while Corbin Bosh and Lungi Ngidi returned to the pavilion without scoring any runs.

Nandre Berger remained not out after scoring 3 runs.

For Pakistan, Abrar Ahmed took 4 wickets while Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Afridi and Salman Agha took 2 wickets each.
