Pakistan reaches Asia Cup final by defeating Bangladesh

DUBAI: In the crucial match of the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup T20, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 11 runs after an exciting match and qualified for the final.

Chasing Pakistan’s target of 136 runs, the Bangladesh team was able to score 124 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

In the match played in Dubai, Bangladesh won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first.

No changes were made to the Pakistan team for the match against Bangladesh. The players who played the match against Sri Lanka were part of the playing eleven.

Pakistan’s innings

Pakistan’s top order failed against Bangladesh and one batter after another got out. Half the team had returned to the pavilion with a total score of 49.

Openers Sahibzada Farhan 4 and Saim Ayub were once again out for zero. Saim returned to the pavilion for zero for the fourth time in the Asia Cup 2025.

Pakistan’s third wicket fell in the form of Fakhar Zaman, who was also dismissed for 13 runs, while Hussain Talat left the team with just 3 runs.

For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed took 3 wickets, Mehidy Hasan and Rashad Hossain took 2 wickets each.

Bangladesh’s Inning

Chasing a target of 136 runs, Bangladesh did not start well at all, losing wickets one after the other. Half of the Bangladesh team had returned to the pavilion with a total score of 63.

Shaheen dismissed Parvez Hussain for 0 and Tohid for 5, while Saif Hassan fell to Haris Rauf for 18, while Mehdi Hassan left the team for 11.

After this, Noorul Hassan was dismissed for 16, Jakir Ali for 5, and Shamim Hussain for 30.

Chasing a target of 136, Bangladesh managed to score 124 for 9 in the allotted overs.

Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf took 3 wickets each for Pakistan. Saim Ayub took 2 wickets and Mohammad Nawaz took one wicket.

It should be noted that the last match of the Asia Cup Super 4 will be played between India and Sri Lanka tomorrow. Sri Lanka has already been eliminated from the final race, and India has reached the final.

The Asia Cup final will be played between Pakistan and India on Sunday.
