DOHA: Pakistan and India (Pakistan vs India) will once again face off in the Asia Cup Rising Stars T20 tournament.

The two arch-rivals will face off with their ‘A’ teams at the West End International Stadium on Sunday at 5:30 pm.

India A made a splash in the opening match of the tournament. Pakistan A, on the other hand, also got off to a good start, defeating Oman by 40 runs in a Group B match on Friday.

This will be the first meeting between the men’s teams of the two countries, which will come up against each other after the Senior Asia Cup in September

. The senior women’s teams faced each other in the World Cup in Sri Lanka earlier this month.

The two countries have a rich history in the Asia Cup Rising Stars, formerly known as the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. Since 2013, India’s Under-23 and A teams have a 2-5 lead over Pakistan.

The two teams have met in the final twice, with India winning by nine wickets in Singapore in 2013 and Pakistan defeating India by 128 runs in the 50-over final in Colombo in 2023.

From this year, the tournament is being played in the T20 format, which includes the A teams of full ICC member countries and prominent teams from other countries.
