Ind vs SA: Proteas crushes India in a Test match after 15 years

KOLKATA: South Africa defeated India in a thrilling match in the Kolkata Test by 30 runs on Sunday.

According to the details, the Indian team was bowled out for 93 runs in pursuit of a target of 124 runs.

Captain Shubman Gill could not come out to bat due to being admitted to the hospital.

Washington Sundar was dismissed for 31 runs, and Axar Patel for 26 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja 18, Dhruv Jurel 13, Rishabh Pant 2, KL Rahul and Kuldeep Yadav one each while Yashasvi Jaiswal was out without scoring any runs.

For South Africa, Simon Harmer took 4 wickets, Keshav Maharaj and Marco Jensen took 2 wickets each while Aiden Markram took one wicket.

In the first innings of the match, the South African team was bowled out for 159 runs; in response which the Indian team was able to score 189 runs in the first innings.

In the second innings, the visiting team was bowled out for 153 runs, and India was given a target of 124 runs to win, but the Indian team failed miserably on its home ground and was bowled out for 93 runs.

The pitch of the Kolkata Test was heavily criticized by former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and the media, as the pitch had an uneven bounce, which made it difficult for the batters to play.
