LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced two changes in the squad for the Test series against the West Indies and England.

Opening batsman Abdullah Fazal has been ruled out of the Test series due to unfitness, so Abdullah Shafiq has been included in the replacement team in his place.

In addition, Saud Shakeel has also been made part of the team as an additional replacement so that strong alternatives can be available in the batting lineup.

After the two-Test series against the West Indies, the next assignment of the Pakistani team is a tour of England. The Pakistani team will play a three-Test series in England. This series is part of the ICC World Test Championship.

It should be remembered that national batsman Abdullah Fazal was ruled out of both important series due to injury. According to a spokesperson for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Abdullah Fazal will not be able to represent the national team in the Test series against the West Indies and England due to a severe injury to his lower back.

The spokesperson said that Abdullah Fazal suffered this injury during a training session at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy Ground in Trinidad on July 23.

Immediately after the injury, the player underwent a medical examination and an MRI scan, which confirmed back pain.

According to the PCB, the team’s medical panel, after a detailed examination, has opined that Abdullah Fazal will need some time to fully recover, which is why it has been decided to keep him out of both Test series so that he can fully recover.
