LAHORE: With the International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy looming, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is set to meet the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India and future ICC Chairman Jay Shah, media reports revealed on Friday.

Following the ICC delegation’s review and subsequent approval of arrangements at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Gaddafi Stadium, and the National Stadium, a meeting is set to be held between PCB Chairman Naqvi and Jay Shah.

Jay Shah is currently the BCCI secretary and the Asian Cricket Council President. He is also set to take over as the ICC Chairman starting December 1 of this year.

The meeting will take place at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 final according to media reports, which will be held on October 20.

To finalize the logistical arrangements for the upcoming highly awaited global cricket tournament taking place in Pakistan, the PCB is awaiting approval of the event’s schedule. Once finalized, the official schedule will likely be announced by the ICC near the end of October.

The meeting will also discuss India’s participation in the tournament. India has not played in Pakistan since 2008. The two sides have not faced off since Pakistan toured India, which ended in January of 2013, with Pakistan winning the One Day International (ODI) series 2-1.
