PCB grants NOCs to several Pakistani cricketers for overseas leagues

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) says it has granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to several national cricketers, so they can go and take part in overseas county and league matches in England, i.e., without any hiccup from the local side.

As per the PCB, fast bowler Hasan Ali got an NOC to represent Yorkshire County, while Mohammad Ali, Usman Tariq, and Faheem Ashraf have been allowed to show up in England domestic league tournaments during the approved window.

The board also said there’s been a extension in the NOC of experienced pacer Mohammad Abbas, which means he can keep playing for Derbyshire in county cricket, as he was before.

These fresh okays are coming as Pakistani players are still drawing attention across the international franchise and county scene, largely because of their consistent displays and what clubs call, the growing interest for overseas competitions.

PCB normally issues NOCs to centrally contracted and domestic cricketers after checking the national team schedule, player workload, and any international obligations already on the books.

In other words, it helps players get some proper experience in foreign conditions, while still keeping their professional commitments abroad in order.

Hasan Ali’s stint with Yorkshire is expected to give the club a stronger bowling unit, while Mohammad Abbas will continue his county involvement with Derbyshire after solid performances on the English domestic circuit.

Overall, putting Pakistani players into English competitions is being seen as a good omen for Pakistan cricket too, because it helps them sharpen their craft and build wider exposure ahead of the next international assignments.
