PM Shehbaz hosts street child football team, plans to boost football in Pakistan

In a heartwarming gesture, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the Pakistan Street Child Football Team, who recently made headlines with their remarkable performance at a tournament in Norway.

The team’s achievement has not only brought pride to the nation but has also highlighted the potential of Pakistani youth to excel in sports with adequate support and opportunities.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured the team that his government would soon unveil a comprehensive plan to promote football in Pakistan.

Moreover, he emphasized the need to revive departmental sports and directed the concerned authorities to take necessary steps to restore the sports infrastructure.

The Prime Minister praised the team’s outstanding performance, saying it was a testament to the fact that Pakistani youth have the potential to make a mark globally if given the right opportunities.

PM Shehbaz lauded the role of Muslim Hands, a non-profit organization, in promoting street football and providing a platform for underprivileged children to showcase their talent.

The team members, including Captain Muhammad Adeel, top scorer Muhammad Kashif, and team manager Syed Muhammad Awais, were present at the meeting.

They were accompanied by representatives from Muslim Hands, including Executive Director Syed Javed Gillani, Director Global Operations Arsalan Nusrat, and Communication Director Muhammad Rehan Tahir.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif referred to the players as “bright stars” who are bringing fame to Pakistan through their achievements in football. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the team and assured them of his government’s support in their future endeavors.

The meeting was attended by several dignitaries, including Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister of State for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Chairman of PM Youth Program Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, and senior officers.
