LAHORE: Five franchises have officially announced the players retained and their compensation for the 11th season of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Peshawar Zalmi has retained former national team captain Babar Azam in the Platinum category for Rs 70 million.
In the Diamond category, Sufyan Muqeem has been retained for Rs 44.8 million, in the Gold category, Abdul Samad has been retained for Rs 28 million, while in the Emerging category, Ali Raza has been retained for Rs 19.6 million.
Lahore Qalandars have retained Shaheen Shah Afridi in the Platinum category for Rs 70 million.
In the Diamond category, Abdullah Shafiq has been retained for Rs 22 million, in the Gold category, Sikandar Raza has been retained for Rs 28 million, and in the Silver category, Muhammad Naeem has been retained for Rs 7 million.
Quetta Gladiators have retained Abrar Ahmed in the Platinum category for Rs 70 million.
Usman Tariq has been retained in the Diamond category for Rs 56 million, Hassan Nawaz in the Gold category for Rs 39.2 million, and Hussain in the Emerging category for Rs 84 million.
Karachi Kings have retained fast bowler Hassan Ali in the Platinum category for Rs 47.6 million. In addition, Abbas Afridi has been retained in the Diamond category for Rs 38 million, Khushdil Shah in the Gold category for Rs 33.6 million, and Saad Baig in the Emerging category for Rs 6 million.
Islamabad United have retained Shadab Khan in the Platinum category for Rs 70 million, while Salman Irshad has been retained in the Gold category for Rs 14 million, and Andreas Goss in the Silver category for Rs 12 million.
Islamabad United had allocated Rs 450 million for the auction, of which the franchise has spent Rs 96 million.
According to the PCB, the franchises have been informed of the amounts of the players to be retained, while an additional Rs 55 million has been kept for direct signings.
It should be noted that Multan Sultans did not retain any players for PSL 11.
