PSL 11: Lahore Qalandars defeat Hyderabad Kingsmen

LAHORE: Defending champions Lahore Qalandars defeated Hyderabad Kingsmen by 69 runs in the opening match of the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

In the first match of the event played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the Hyderabad Kingsmen team could score 130 runs in pursuit of the target of 200 runs set by Lahore Qalandars.

Captain Marnus Labuschagne stood out for Hyderabad Kingsmen by scoring 24 runs, Saim Ayub 17, Hassan Khan 14, Hammad Azam 10, Muhammad Ali 10, Usman Khan 9, Rizwan Mahmood 8 and Irfan Khan returned to the pavilion by scoring 4 runs.

Kingsmen’s Kaushal Perera and Akif Javed were dismissed for one run each, while Riley Meredith remained not out after scoring 19 runs.

For Lahore Qalandars, Haris Rauf, Sikandar Raza and Obaid Shah took 2 wickets each, while Mustafizur Rehman and captain Shaheen Afridi took one wicket each.

Earlier, Lahore Qalandars won the toss and batted first and scored 199 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

For Lahore Qalandars, Fakhar Zaman stood out by scoring 53 runs, while Haseebullah played an unbeaten innings of 40 runs, Muhammad Naeem 30, Sikandar Raza 24, Parvez Hussain Aiman ​​returned to the pavilion by scoring 14 runs.

For Qalandars, Asif Ali scored 6 and Abdullah Shafiq scored 4 runs, while captain Shaheen Afridi remained not out by scoring 12 runs.

For Hyderabad Kingsmen, Hassan Khan and Riley Meredith took 2 wickets each and Muhammad Ali dismissed one player.
