LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the franchises could not reach an agreement on the schedule of the Pakistan Super League 11 (PSL 2026).
According to details, the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League will be held in April and May next year.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has started the process of selling 2 new teams, but the number of matches has not yet been agreed upon.
Initially, a proposal of 44 to 60 matches has been made, but the franchises want more matches to be held to increase revenue.
The franchises believe that each team should be allowed to play at least 14 matches in the initial round; however, board officials say that this will not be possible due to limited space in the window.
The team owners suggested that 2 matches each be held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to resolve this issue, and discussions are still ongoing on this.
Apart from this, no final decision has been taken on the draft or auction.
On the other hand, the PCB has not yet been able to find a suitable replacement after the resignation of Manager Partnerships and Players Acquisition, Shoaib Khalid.
An advertisement was issued recently for the appointment of Consultant Players Acquisition PSL. The last date for applying passed yesterday and the authorities will now decide in this regard.
This is a very important responsibility; it will be necessary to appoint an experienced official to contact foreign cricketers and agents.
