Quetta Gladiators defeat Islamabad United by 2 wickets in PSL 10

LAHORE: In the 23rd match of the Pakistan Super League, Quetta Gladiators defeated Islamabad United by 2 wickets, here on Saturday.

In the match played at Gaddafi Stadium, Quetta Gladiators won the toss against Islamabad United and decided to bowl first.

Islamabad United scored 157 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the first innings. Quetta Gladiators set a target of 158 runs to win. In pursuit of the target, Quetta Gladiators started their innings.

Except for four players, no player could score double figures. Hassan Nawaz stood out by scoring 58 runs with the help of 3 sixes and 2 fours. Riley Russo scored 27 runs while Finn Allen scored 20 runs with the help of a six and 2 fours. Mohammad Wasim was dismissed for 16 runs.

Sahibzada Farhan 39, Kyle Myers 22, Colin Munro 9, Salman Ali Agha 0, Andries Ghos 8, Muhammad Shahzad 0, Haider Ali 10, Muhammad Nawaz 49 and Naseem Shah 1 were out for Islamabad. Jason Holder was not out for 14 runs.

Faheem Ashraf took 4 wickets for Quetta while Abrar Ahmed, Khurram Shahzad, Kyle Jamieson and Saud Shakeel took 1 wicket each. One player from Islamabad was run out.

Islamabad United is captained by Salman Ali Agha while Quetta Gladiators is captained by Saud Shakeel.

Both teams have played 7 matches each in the event so far, Islamabad United is at the top with 10 points while Quetta Gladiators have 9 points.
