Quetta Gladiators sets 202-run target in thrilling PSL 10 final

LAHORE: In the final of the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Quetta Gladiators set a target of 202 runs for Lahore Qalandars to win.

In the final match of PSL 10 being played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Quetta Gladiators batted first and scored 201 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs thanks to the aggressive batting of Hassan Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf.

Quetta Gladiators’ innings

Saud Shakeel and Finn Allen opened the innings for Quetta Gladiators, but the opening pair could not provide a good start. Saud Shakeel fell victim to Shaheen Afridi for just 4 runs on a total score of 17, then Salman Mirza dismissed Finn Allen for an individual score of 12.

Quetta Gladiators’ third wicket also fell at a total score of 58, Riley Rossouw could not stay at the wicket for long, he scored 22 runs and was caught by Sikandar Raza.

Quetta Gladiators suffered their fourth loss at a total score of 125, Avishka Fernando was dismissed by Shaheen Shah Afridi for 29 runs.

Meanwhile, Hassan Nawaz continued his brilliant batting and completed a half-century in 27 balls and then in the 18th over, Hassan Nawaz was dismissed by Shaheen Shah Afridi for a total score of 172. He scored 76 runs in 43 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 8 fours and was a prominent batsman.

Newcomers Mohammad Amir and Abrar Ahmed went to the pavilion at 177 without scoring any runs, both of them were made victims by Haris Rauf.

Apart from this, Dinesh Chandimal played an aggressive innings of 22 runs off 13 balls while Faheem Ashraf turned the tables on the match in the last over. He hit Salman Mirza for 23 runs in the last over with 3 sixes and a four. He was dismissed for 28 runs off 8 balls.

For Lahore Qalandars, Shaheen Shah Afridi took 3 wickets, Salman Mirza and Haris Rauf took 2 wickets each, while Sikandar Raza and Rashad Hussain took one wicket each.
