KARACHI: In a major setback during Pakistan Super League 11, Rawalpindi’s campaign has been hit hard after their star fast bowler Naseem Shah was ruled out of the squad temporarily due to injury.
According to franchise officials, Naseem sustained a side injury during the match against Karachi Kings. Following medical assessment, he has been advised rest, while the team’s medical staff continues to monitor his recovery closely. There is hope that he could return during the later stages of the tournament, subject to fitness clearance.
In response, the franchise has acted swiftly by including all-rounder Mubasir Khan as a partial replacement in the squad. Mubasir, who has previously represented Islamabad United, has played 14 matches in his career, scoring 49 runs and taking 2 wickets.
Meanwhile, in a move to strengthen their bowling lineup, the team has also signed New Zealand fast bowler Ben Sears. Acquired for PKR 25 million, Sears is set to make his debut appearance in the PSL and is expected to add depth to the pace attack.
